how santa stole christmas

so i think i've decided what i'm going to write my paper on...santa claus. i'm actually going to take the position that i don't agree with, just to make it more "provocative", as my prof would put it. monday night at d-group we were discussing how our families did christmas. other people's traditions seem rather strange to me. there were a couple that didn't even have santa. thats no surprise to me. but even the people that had santa, their gifts from santa weren't even wrapped. what? i've never heard of this phenomenon. okay, anyway, i've decided to write about how santa has stolen christmas...kinda like how the grinch did, ya know? i personally don't have anything against santa, but i figured it would make a creative topic for my final english paper.

so tuesday night when i went to go set my alarm, megan had already set it. she had it set for 8:30, and even though i had an 8 o'clock class, my mind said "hey, thats about the time i need to get up. not her fault at all...just the power of suggestion i guess. anyway, i was laying in bed not wanting to get up when i realized at 8:35 that i was supposed to be at my 8:00 am class. crappit! it was my last day of stat lab and i had already missed all the points i could in order to maintain my 100% for quizzes. that may not have made sense, but don't worry about it. oh no, i wasn't going to give up that easily. so i jumped out of bed, threw on some pants, a sweatshirt, and ran to my class. i got there by 8:45...five minutes before class ended. my ta allowed me to start...i'm glad she did because it only took the remaining time of the class to finish anyway. what a waste of time that class was...glad i don't have it anymore. hopefully, i don't do it again next week for my final. yikes.

played our last game of ultimate yesterday, and the dueces came out on top! oh yea! finally won a game by a good margin...10-2. i hadn't played since the all-star game back in the beginning of november or something. besides the cold air trying to choke me when i ran, it wasn't too bad and the girls made some pretty good plays. looking forward to the spring season. perhaps i'll play club frisbee...who knows.

i bought a t-shirt for ruf last night at ruf. yay! i'm excited. after ruf, luke dropped me and colette off at my place and we watched while you were sleeping. yay for that movie! colette hadn't seen it before and i thought that was down right wrong...she liked it. good deal. i've got to get started on my english paper today since the rough draft is due tomorrow. busy day ahead of me...oh, i can't forget to declare pre-journalism as my double major today, either.
