hey! i know that guy from high school!

so you think that your first, "hey! i know that guy from high school!" would be a few years down the road from graduation. thats how my parents were...their high school peer is on spin city. okay, so maybe it wasn't that big of a role, but it was still cool.

we were dancing around the cramped living room space of some ruf upperclassmen's house to various types of music while the ut and ole miss game was on tv (on a side note, we had a glimmer of hope when ole miss pulled ahead five minutes into the fourth quarter...but once again, ut got lucky and our hopes were dashed...we're pulling for south carolina now, oh no).

commercial break.

don't we all hate those. anyway, i happened to glace at the tv as my old classmate's (matt drake) face popped onto the screen. what?! i know that kid! what?! why is he crowd surfing on a bunch of yellow shirted buzz kids from tech (which is where he goes)! WHAT?! why is he lathered in soap suds in a shower?! i had no idea why because the tv was on mute and the music was blasting. all i could do was scream and yell for colette, who also happened to be matt's prom date this year, and point to his face on the screen. everyone around us was confused at our sudden outburst of "oh my gosh!"es and didn't believe us when we explained our link to him. it was funny. anyway, turns out that matt, who is big into acting, was doing some kind of commercial for old spice soap. i guess it was some kind of contest. so it wasn't that big of an appearance, but how often do you see someone you know on television?

so the dance party was fun...got back at 1:30 am. don't you just love the college life? got up at 9:15 for church this morning, spent $10 at olive garden even though i could have eaten a "free" meal at the dining hall, cleaned like crazy (vacuumed my room! yay!), sat down to study chem, fell asleep, dinner plans were foiled, went to the varsity instead, and worked on more homework. i gotta start doing my homework before sundays so i can just chill. plenty of time now since we don't have any games until thanksgiving. well, if i'm gonna pass this next chem exam, i've got to get to studying.
