once again, i'm being rather lazy with the posting.
its hard to believe that we're getting into the final things of the year. i mean, we're in the single digits...less than 5, that is, of the number of classes left. and up to this point, i had been to every single one of my classes...except two...with a valid excuse. well, sorta.
at the beginning of the semester, becca was planning on going to the retreat with us and i had to try to find her a ride the day of. it was chaotic, so desparately, i decided to skip history of the built environment. thats a class i'd never miss again. not because its so entertaining, but because you actually need to be there for the lecture. evidently, i missed the diagram of a "ha-ha" (which is a ditch, not a laugh) and didn't know how to draw it for the test. figures. anyway, the second class i missed was english, not too long ago. that particualr time, it was the week after spring break and i had way too much crap to do. i skipped english (which was the only class out of the four that day that didn't have a test) so i could study up for history of the built environment.
this morning was a bit different. after our last discipleship meeting last night, i went home, took a shower, took a nap at 9 pm on a monday night, and woke up about an hour later to get ready to go downtown. i know...hold up. its a monday night. well, i was headed downtown to see someday new play at tasty world. why? well, i found out that drew's band was playing, so i figured i'd go and see them. i was gonna bring a whole bunch of people...but everyone dropped out except for megan. so at 11 pm we drove downtown and parked behind tasty world. as we were walking toward the front, i saw drew, so i went over to say hey. it was nice to see that we were on good terms. caught up on some things that were going on for a little while. we talked for a bit and then i figured i should let him get ready, so megan and i made our way to the front.
they were supposed to go on at midnight, but another band went on first. they were kinda loud and screamy, which i didn't really appreciate in my tired state. someday new didn't even get on stage until about 1 am. they did really good...the only problem was that the music was so loud you couldn't really hear the words. but at least they weren't screaming. they were all really animated and fun to watch, though.
megan and i got back to the dorm just a little past 2 am. there was no way i wanted to get up in 4.5 hours to go to a three hour class that was dimley lit and where i might have to sit and listen to a two hour lecture (this was my drawing class). so i slept through it, missing class number three. its not too bad of an excuse i get...and missing one class shouldn't hurt. i hope.
