all hail breaks loose

i really shouldn't be doing this right now...but i am. so oh well.

i have a fun story that i didn't find time to post yesterday, although i think i've told like a gazillion people already. anyway, yesterday, i fended off the t-storms that were supposed to hit us all day long by carrying my huge umbrella and raincoat around all day. figures that i don't need it when i'm prepared. anyway, apparently, all those storms built up all day to hit us with one hard wack...and all hail broke loose.

megan and i were walking back from working out at ramsey because it didn't seem like we would have enough time to wait for a bus before it began raining. we thought we were walking away from the storm, although i did notice that it was kinda grayish up ahead. it looked like it was raining up ahead in the light...but i couldn't really tell. it started spitting on us....and then the spritzles turned into loud spatters. huh. that rain was falling pretty darn hard...no wait. that raindrop just bounced. it was then that i realized that it was starting to hail. pea-size, but still, hail.

i picked up a little ice bullet and showed it to megan. we both looked up ahead and saw this wall of ice moving toward us. holy crap, we were about to get mauled by hail! we both screamed and ran for cover under a bus overhang. just as we were safe, the hail poured down like when the ice dispenser of a coke machine that gets stuck. within a few seconds, the road was white. then there was a combination of water/hail, and then just hardcore rain. within three minutes, the whole thing was over and there was no evidence that we had almost lost our lives.
