we've had a couple of light dustings of snow here in winston over the course of this winter. jonathan and i managed to make a snowman in our garden at the end of january, but it required all the snow from the lawn outside our apartment door!
i was hoping that living further north, we'd get some good snow. well, on the cusp of spring weather, we got snow. march 1st was our lucky day. the storm swept across alabama and georgia first and their snowfall ended before ours even started! it had rained all weekend and through all of sunday, but by 7 pm, our snow set in and continued through the early hours of the morning.
we got 5" and i dragged jonathan out of our cold apartment (we don't have the heat on) to play in the even colder snow earlier than he wanted to. but it was a gorgeous day and the snow really blinded you. i had to squint all morning because i broke my only pair of sunglasses awhile back. anyway, we walked around in the snow, built a couple snowmen, made some snow angels...you know, the typical snow stuff.
now, three days later, we still have snow sticking around on the north side of all the buildings and in the shade. it won't last much longer--its supposed to get up above 70 degrees this weekend! crazy weather.
